Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre',...
Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre', central market. We didn't plan our visits very well because all museums are closed on Monday so we didn't get to see as many as we had hoped.
We took the train out to Jurmala (beach) which was lovely but we were blessed with great weather.
Learn to say 'hello' and 'thank you' in Latvia. It goes a long way.
Latvians are very polite and we found Riga to be extremely clean.
Oh, great coffee too!

The Old Town was beautiful.
The Old Town was beautiful. Fantastic architecture everywhere. We were there in the snow and it added a beauty to the town. The huge food market was interesting and full of great foods to try. The waterways around the old town separating the centre were lovely to walk around. The bar and food scene was great and we ate and drank our way through our weekend.

Riga is a very nice city to visit.
Riga is a very nice city to visit. I personally would go in spring-autumn but winter is also good. Whether you are interested in arts, music or just walking around the place - Riga has something to offer to anyone. The National library is worth visiting even if you are not doing any research and need reading rooms, it's a very interesting piece of contemporary architecture. Theatres, music, parks, buildings - honestly, you'll never regret going

Do not miss Central market. Food options. Bargain shops. Fruit shops. Everything
Very comfortable room with nice view on the river and city. Old town is just accross the bridge.Helpful staff. Wide range of selection for breakfast, good room service for dinner.
Just made us even happier when saw those people who had stayed in this hotel earlier...Ii. Elizabeth, G.Bush, , The Barca, Depeche Mode, etc...
Good location not only to the city center (walking distance) , but to the airport as well, public bus to the airport stops a block away.
The hotel is in walking distance from the old town and the city center. There are two shopping malls close by, as well as the train and bus stations, and the market. It is right next to one of Riga's landmarks - the Science Academy building, from the top of which you can get a great view of the city. The rooms are alright, all the basic needs are provided. It's a decent value for money, if you don't set your expectations too high.
loved the location.
24h ability to check in
loved bathroom
was clean
this hotel - apartments are good compared to basic 3 star hotels around Riga, espetially those outside old town or downtown. it was good.
its good for sleep only, like quick crash and stay busy all day outdoors.

Grand Poet is located close to the Old Town on a quiet street across from a park. Room was clean and spacious with a comfortable desk to work at. Hotel is very quiet and I slept well. After trying a number of different hotels in Riga, Grand Poet is now my clear favorite. All of the main sites in the Old Town and Art Nouveau district are in walking distance.
The location is in the old town center, few distance to the House of the Black Heads. The toilet was really nice, glass walls and clean. It was easy to locate and walkable from the bus stop coming from the airport. Inside the room there were kettle, microwave, cups available that were useful during the stay. Close to restaurant and Pubs. It was silent!
Hotel has good position, not far from the airport, as well as from the old town. Personal was very kind, we got upgraded room which was bigger and nice. We left hotel early in the morning so we cannot comment breakfast. Also we didn't have time to use other hotel facilities. Regardless, we recommend this hotel to everyone.
hotel is very centrally located in the old town, you can walk easily everywhere in a few minutes.Airport bus 22 departs just outside of the hotel and is very convenient.Very good price, clean big rooms with good wifi, definitely worth staying to visit Riga.
Beautiful hotel in historical building, in the hearth of old town of Riga. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, fantastic restaurant and the kindest and the most wonderful staff! Especial thanks to Hasan and Doni! Live music on some evenings.
The breakfast is INSANE. So much choice, so efficient, so delicious. The breakfast room is beautifully decorated, too. The best way to start a day exploring the old city of Riga. And this hotel is literally in the middle of Old Town by the river!
Great hotel, I keep using it whenever we arrive to Riga. Excellent location just within Riga old town with lots of restaurants and amenities close by.
The stuff is very friendly and you can find your way around very easily.
