Cycle the DanubeSasa Tour Guide and Andro the driver were great. They took care of the group with their jovial attitude and ensured that individual's needs were met. They provided easy to follow directions and kept the group together. There were occasions when things would have gone wrong but Sasa and Andro ensured that they are there on every step along the way to make it trouble-free and enjoyable experience. Vienna to Bratislava by bike (and back)We had a great tour but the first day was too long cycling through areas where there were no refreshment options & it was very hot. If we could have had regular stops that would have been more manageable. The cycle track network is excellent & safe. We spent less time by the Danube than anticipated. We did a bus our to make the most of our limited time in Vienna & loved having time to explore Bratislava - much cheaper & more edgy! The bikes were good although one did not have a water bottle carrier which is a must in such hot weather. The hotels were good for what we needed. The BEST breakfast was at the Fruhstick Penion Maria - fabulous! The receptionist at the first stop hotel in Bruck is in the wrong job - she was unhelpful. On our return to the Hotel Ibis we encountered an unpleasant chap who had a real issue with where we left the bikes for collection - we had no such problems when we stayed there - at the beginning of the tour & collected the bikes - again he seemed to have a problem with working in hospitality! Support from Martina was excellent throughout - nothing was too much trouble. The luggage transfers worked seamlessly. Thank you for a memorable trip.

Budapest - Vienna - SalzburgWhile Sam the trip leader was excellent the tour as a whole was very badly organised, in particular the walking tour guides one of who was very late and then rushed through it managing to lose everyone in the group at various points and the other of who didn't come at all leaving Sam to try and lead the tour. Those were the worst points but all round the organisation was poor.

The Best of Eastern Europe
The Best of Eastern EuropeExcellent trip covering many capitals and other cities in Central and Eastern Europe. There is a lot of free time included in the itinerary to explore on your own, so be prepared to make your own daily plans and venture out on your own or with fellow travelers. Almost every city has free (tips only) quality guides. Accommodations are all in centrally-located medium-level hotels. Some are better than others. As is common in Europe, around half of the hotels did not have air conditioning, only fans. Availability and quality of hotels differs by regions, and I found these hotels to be better than in tours run by G Adventures in other regions of the world. They are lower in quality to hotels in US and Canada. Don't expect a Ritz Carleton, and you won't be disappointed. Breakfasts are included, and they were fantastic everywhere - all-you-can-eat, with large assortment and excellent quality. All other meals are on your own, although the guide made arrangements to eat as a group on many nights (which is optional). Food is still relatively inexpensive in former Soviet bloc countries, not so in Berlin and Vienna. Transportation was excellent, and varied from private buses, minivans and taxis to public trains, metro, buses and trams. Be prepared to carry/roll your luggage for close to 1 km (about half a mile). In a few cities, larger buses and minivans are not allowed into historic centers of town, where hotels are located, during the day, so we had to walk. One of most memorable experiences for many travelers on our tour was a visit to Auschwitz concentration camp, which was included in the itinerary.
